Homework for Thursday, February 15th, 2018

Other Ways of Asking "Why"
What....for?
  • Why did you do that? = What did you do that for?
  • Why are you here? = What are you here for?
  • Why should I do that? = What should I do that for?
How come...?

This is used mainly to show surprise. When using "how come,"

do not use inversion (question word order) or do, does, or did.
  • Why do you hate tomatoes? = How come you hate tomatoes?
  • Why did you see that movie? = How come you saw that movie?
  • Why are you sick again? = How come you're sick again?
Please do Exercise #4 from Grammar 11-1.....Writing appropriate questions
