Homework for May 28th, 2015

1. Essay Assignment: Please complete the second paragraph and share with me.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

All citizens should be interested and actively involved in their country's politics.

2. Essay Outline. Plan your essay by organizing your ideas:

Introduction

Hook and Background:
Politics is an important part of any country’s economy. It affects how we live, our ideas and how we feel towards issues that are going on in the world. There are a number of reasons why people should or should not be involved in their country’s politics.

Thesis:
In this essay I will discuss both sides of this topic.

Body

Paragraph 1
There are several ways that I believe a person can become actively involved and add to their country’s politics. Firstly, citizens can become aware of the issues in their country. If you know what is happening in your country you can address what you are not satisfied with. Second of all, people are able to fix problems with their country that they don’t agree on. Knowing the problems and controversies within your own country is the first step to coming up with a solution. Lastly, citizens should always aim to improve their country through political actions. When a person is aware of what needs to be improved, they can actively begin to change.
